Initiatives for SMPs

As part of the Institute’s initiatives for audit quality enhancement of Small and Medium Practices (SMPs), MIA is pleased to collaborate with The Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) in providing a joint training on “Practical Auditing Methodology for SMPs”.

This joint training programme is aimed to enhance SMPs’ understanding on the practical aspects of SME audits, which meet the requirements of the International Standards of Auditing (ISAs).

Each participant will be receiving a complimentary copy of the MICPA’s Audit Guide for Practitioners (AGP) and the Illustrative Audit Working Paper (IAWP).

MIA puts emphasis on the importance of this training as participants would gain a better understanding on how to improve the audit process and audit quality of the SMPs. Therefore, audit partners and staff are strongly encouraged to attend the 2-day training programme.

Workshop’s Structure

There will be at least two facilitators for each workshop. The practical examples and exercises that will be used during the workshops will be based on the AGP and IAWP. An overview of the focus of the workshop is illustrated as below:
