Qualifying Examination
Since 2003, the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) has been carrying out the MIA Qualifying Examination (MIA QE) as an alternative pathway for accounting, business and finance graduates to qualify as chartered accountants.
Introduced by MIA as a move to enable more individuals to become qualified chartered accountants in Malaysia, the MIA QE is targeted at aspiring accountants who do not possess a professional qualification in accountancy recognised by MIA as stated in Part I and Part II of the First Schedule to the Accountants Act 1967 as a result to the amendments to Section 15 of the Accountants Act 1967 (Act).
