“Towards Accountability & Excellence”
Excellence in corporate reporting and compliance with international financial reporting standards are fundamental to promote transparency and confidence among investors in the capital market and to establish Malaysia as a competitive destination for investment.
Established in 1990, the National Annual Corporate Reporting Awards (NACRA) are designed to promote excellence and improvement in corporate reporting. NACRA is a collaborative effort of three bodies, namely, Bursa Malaysia, Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA).
Over its long history, NACRA’s primary purpose “Towards Accountability and Excellence” has remained unchanged as annual reports still serve as the main vehicle for an organisation to communicate its objectives, vision and performance to its stakeholders. However, the criteria for NACRA are reviewed and improved each year to align Malaysian corporate reporting with dynamic global frameworks and respond to growing interest in integrated and sustainability reporting.
