Integrated Reporting <IR>

The Institute has been proactive in advocating integrated reporting <IR> in Malaysia since the setting up of the Integrated Reporting Steering Committee in 2014. The Institute is part of  the <IR> Business Network under the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) and is an approved trainer to conduct <IR> training recognised by the IIRC in Malaysian and the ASEAN region.

The <IR> framework was introduced by the IIRC on 9 December 2013. IIRC explained that <IR> applies principles and concepts that are focused on bringing greater cohesion and efficiency to the reporting process and adopting ‘integrated thinking’ as a way of breaking down internal silos, reducing duplication and enhancing planning and decision making.

<IR> improves the quality of information available to providers of capitals to enable a more efficient and productive allocation of resources. Its focus on value creation and the ‘capitals’ used by the business to create value over time, contributes towards a more financially stable global economy. Through <IR>, organisations are able to tell a clear, concise, and integrated story to their stakeholders on value creation from their resources.
