Datuk Bazlan Osman

President

Datuk Bazlan Osman was elected by the Council as MIA President on 17 June 2022.

Previously, he was elected by the Council as the Vice President on 30 July 2021 and commenced his term as MIA Council member on 1 December 2019.

He is also currently the Chair of the ACCA Malaysia Advisory Committee.

Datuk Bazlan brings extensive corporate and business experience to the MIA leadership role. Currently, he sits on the board of several public listed companies, namely as Chairman of FIMA Corporation Berhad, Senior Independent Non-Executive Director of Bursa Malaysia Berhad, Independent Non-Executive Director (INED) of Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Keluarga Berhad and INED of Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad. He is also a director of Malaysia Professional Accountancy Centre (MyPAC).

He was formerly an Executive Director of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM). His last position in TM was Acting Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) and he also served as the Deputy GCEO. Prior to that he was the Group Chief Financial Officer of TM.

Datuk Bazlan is a Chartered Accountant of MIA, and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK).

Dr. Wan Ahmad Rudirman Wan Razak

Chief Executive Officer

Dr Wan Ahmad Rudirman Wan Razak joined MIA as the CEO on 28 March 2022.

He brings extensive C-suite and Board experience in GLCs and PLCs to the Institute and the profession, notably in the core areas of leadership, strategic planning, corporate restructuring and transformation, and financial stewardship.

Prior to joining MIA, he last served as the President/Group Chief Executive Officer of Terengganu Incorporated Sdn Bhd, the strategic investment arm of the State Government of Terengganu, where he led the Group’s restructuring exercise. Among his corporate milestones are spearheading the listing of Selia Group on Bursa Malaysia in his capacity as the Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Director of Selia Ekuiti Sdn Bhd, the holding company for Selia Group and serving as the Group Chief Operating Officer and Group General Manager (Operation Services) of KUB Malaysia Berhad and on the board of various KUB subsidiaries.

Prior to that, Dr. Wan was the Head of Corporate Strategy, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad, where he was handpicked to lead the Corporate Strategy division under the Managing Director’s Office, responsible for developing and executing a 5-year Business Plan and Key Performance Indicators for senior management.

A passionate advocate for the accountancy profession, Dr. Wan is the representative of the Council of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and the ASEAN Federation of Accountants (AFA), a Member of the MIA-MQA Joint Technical Committee (JTC) and Member of the MAREF Board of Trustees. To help drive inclusion and optimise talent, he is an advocate of the 30% Club – a global campaign led by Chairs and CEOs to increase gender diversity at board and senior management levels.

Dr. Rudirman holds a doctorate in Business Administration from the University of South Australia Adelaide, Australia, an MBA from the University of North London, UK, a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Accounting from the University of Portsmouth, UK and a Diploma in Accounting from Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu.
