Objectives

Sustainability Committee is set up by the Council of Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) to facilitate the achievement of outcome of MIA Sustainability Blueprint for the Accountancy Profession (“the Blueprint”) on its behalf by working together with other MIA Committees.

Scope and Authority

1. To advocate for the roles of accountancy professionals in sustainability and in connection with the sustainability ecosystem;
2. To lead the development of the overall MIA sustainability roadmap/plan which is based on the Blueprint;
3. To monitor the implementation of the overall MIA sustainability roadmap/plan;
4. To provide advice and support to the Council and MIA Committees on sustainability roadmap/plan and other sustainability matters;
5. To contribute to thought leadership materials and guidance (where relevant); and
6. To participate and/or contribute in sustainability-related events.
