TO ALL MIA QE CANDIDATE MIA QE TO INTRODUCE NEW ASSESSMENT SYSTEM FOR 2012

The Malaysian Institute of Accountants will be introducing a newly revised assessment methodology to the MIA Qualifying Examination (QE) system. This will come into effect starting from the September 2012 MIA Qualifying Examination sitting.

Additionally, the MIA Examination Committee has revised and updated the MIA QE Syllabus with the current changes and practices. The new syllabus will also take effect from the September 2012 examination. The objective of introducing the assessment is to provide a more effective academic support to the QE candidates.

The new system will take into account both workshop evaluations and final examination. Under the new assessment system, candidates are required to complete the workshops evaluations before they can sit for the final examination.

For the workshop evaluations, the candidates are required to attend a series of workshops for each registered paper. Candidates are required to register for both of the workshop and exam. The workshop timetable and registration form will be sent to you via e-mails and made available on the website in due course.

Candidates are advised to obtain the revised MIA QE Guidelines, Syllabus and Study Guide from the MIA website for references.

Registration will be opened in April 2012 and closed by end of May 2012.
