MIA Member Bereavement Assistance
The MIA Member Bereavement Assistance aims to ease that burden by providing compassionate financial support to the immediate family or designated beneficiaries of deceased members. While the assistance is intended to be timely, it is important to note that disbursement may require some processing time due to internal verification, documentation and approval procedures. As such, the MIA Member Bereavement Assistance is not positioned as an immediate emergency fund but rather as a gesture of support from the Institute.
This initiative reflects the Institute’s commitment to care, empathy and social responsibility and is part of a broader effort to support the well-being of members and their families during difficult periods. It is also aligned with the function of the Institute under Section 6(e) and 6(f) of the Accountants Act 1967, which empowers the Institute to render pecuniary or other assistance to members or their dependants as it thinks fit with a view to protecting or promoting the welfare of members.
