In discharging the Institute’s obligation to regulate the accountancy profession, Legal Unit strives to maintain and prevent any legal issues that arise in protecting the interest of the Institute.

Despite its responsibilities in overseeing the legal risk of MIA in delivering its role including amongst others giving legal advice and drafting/vetting agreements and/or contracts for MIA, Legal Unit is also responsible in managing litigation suits and judicial reviews filed against the Institute. Collectively, Legal Unit is one of the units in the Institute which is responsible for executing the necessary initiatives in order to achieve the Institute’s objectives of risk management and good governance.
