Terence Tan Shium Jye was elected as MIA Council member on 25 September 2021.

He is currently the Partner, Ernst & Young PLT. He also heads the hospitality, property and infrastructure industry group at EY and is the practice leader of their climate change and sustainability services practice. He is an advocate for the environmental, social and governance agenda and believes in integrating sustainability into the organisation’s long-term strategic plans to create long lasting value.

Terence holds a degree in Bachelor of Commence (Accounting) from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia.

Terence is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA). He is also a member of the Chartered Accountants, Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) and a fellow member of the CPA Australia.
