Objective

  1. The Professional Accountants in Business Committee serves professional accountants who work in commerce, industry, the public sector, internal audit, academia and the not-for-profit sector.
  2. It aims to assist members in enhancing their professional skills and knowledge by providing a channel for exchange of information on important issues that shape the profession.
  3. The Committee also strives to facilitate the adoption and development of best practices with the purpose of promoting the value of professional accountants in business

Scope and Authority

The Committee has authority, within the scope of its responsibilities:

    1. To support the promotion and development of best practices within professional accountants in business.
    2. To support the efforts of the Institute in promoting the value of professional accountants in business.
    3. To review recommendations by the Secretariat of the Committee on suitable publications issued by the Professional Accountants in Business Committee of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and/or other relevant sources and to promote the publications to members and the public at large.
    4. To support the efforts of the Institute in providing a channel for exchange of information to members and member bodies of IFAC regarding current developments and emerging issues that are of importance to professional accountants in business.
    5. To provide guidance or clarification to the Secretariat of the Committee in recommending topics for seminars and other programmes that are relevant to professional accountants in business.
    6. To provide guidance and clarification to the Secretariat of the Committee in identifying and recommending research subjects/topics of current issues and/or matters of importance to professional accountants in business.
